Resin Anchors
Resin anchors are a reliable solution for fixing heavy loads into concrete, masonry, or solid rock. They are widely used in structural applications where high load-bearing performance and secure anchoring are required. These anchors consist of a combination of a chemical adhesive (resin) and a threaded rod or socket. The resin hardens inside the drilled hole to create a strong bond between the substrate and the anchor element. Resin anchors are ideal for use in cracked or uncracked concrete and offer excellent resistance to vibration, corrosion, and dynamic loads.
At ADI Scaffold Fixings, we supply a range of resin anchors and accessories to make the application simple but effective. Here are some of our key components for anchor resin and chemical fixings.
Polyester Resin:
Polyester resin is one of the most commonly used chemical anchoring systems, valued for its cost-effectiveness and ease of application. It is particularly suitable for non-critical applications or medium-load installations such as railings, handrails, and light structural supports. Polyester resins typically come in two components: a resin and a hardener, which are mixed during application to initiate curing. It provides good bonding strength in dry, low-moisture environments and is compatible with a range of base materials, including concrete and masonry. Due to its fast setting time, it is a popular choice for quick installations.
Resin Capsules:
Resin capsules are pre-measured, single-use chemical anchoring systems that contain resin and hardener components in sealed glass or foil tubes. These capsules simplify installation by eliminating the need for manual mixing. Once inserted into a pre-drilled hole, a threaded rod or rebar is driven in using a hammer drill or rotary motion, which breaks the capsule and mixes the resin and hardener. This system ensures a consistent mix and reduces waste. Resin capsules are ideal for anchoring in overhead or vertical positions, and they offer high-performance anchoring with controlled setting times.
Internal Threaded Socket:
Internal threaded sockets are anchoring elements used in conjunction with resin systems to provide a reusable, clean, and secure internal thread within concrete or masonry. These sockets allow for the easy installation and removal of bolts or studs, making them perfect for applications where maintenance or fixture changes are required. Commonly used in industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects, internal threaded sockets offer a neat flush finish and are available in stainless steel or galvanised steel for corrosion resistance. When combined with resin, they deliver a strong mechanical bond that ensures reliable performance even under dynamic loads.
